Sportfishing Charter
Info* Our sport charters are sightfishing shallow grassflats
at depths of 1 to 4 ft. The most commonly caught species
on our grassflats year-round are redfish and spotted-sea
trout. Black drum, jack crevalle, tarpon, and snook
are seasonally available as well. Along with our normal
fly fishing trips, we also offer spinning reel charters.
* We don’t use monofilament line or live bait.
Spinning charters are sightfishing with fly fishing
or with spinning reels spooled with braided line, using
artificial plastics, topwater, and other artificial
lures. This is Florida inshore sportfishing for the
pure fun of the hunt; we purposely don’t chum
or make it a habit of soaking baits, and we never purposely
fish in crowds or with groups of other recreational
anglers or guides.
“Our Charters Are Fly Fishing Or Spinning
Reels With Artificials, We don’t Use Bait”
* We provide fishing licenses, tackle, lures, flies,
rods, reels, bottled drinking water, and a cooler &
clean ice. Boat space is limited.
* We have current licenses & permits to legally
guide in Mosquito Lagoon and the surrounding waters
of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, which
includes the upper Indian River, the Banana River, and
the Banana River no motor zone.
* You may bring a beer or two for the end of the trip,
but I do not allow large amounts of alcoholic beverages,
intoxicated anglers, or illegal drugs on my boats. If
it becomes apparent that an angler is intoxicated or
out of control I will return to the boat ramp, post-haste.
* For beginning sightfishing anglers who would like
in-depth instruction or casting lessons, consecutive
charter dates are encouraged, and normally should be
scheduled in advance to insure availability.
* We never book back-to-back 1⁄2 day charters
on the same day, and we’re not clock- watchers;
we will go back to the dock when you are ready to go!
* Flats skiff trips are 2 anglers maximum.
* Canoe trips are one guide and one angler per canoe.
* Charter rates are the same for trips in the flats
skiff or the canoe.
Rates are for
1 angler
5-6 hours $350.00
8+ hours $400.00
(Skiff trips add $50.00 for second angler)
*Trips reserved more than 21 days in
advance require a refundable deposit of $75.00 per day
reserved, per person. Refunds are not given if cancellation
is within 48 hours of a pre-scheduled trip. Exceptions
may be made for some situations. The captain reserves
the right to cancel trips due to unsafe or inclimate
weather conditions.
* Please realize that we cannot control the weather,
the wind, or the fish.
* Ask about discounts for active duty military personnel
and combat veterans.
